Doug

Doug - Our fearless leader. After being a Scoutmaster for many years, Doug was able to whip us into shape. Ohhh that whip (oh yeah what happens in Whitney stays in Whitney - I forgot). Regardless through his organizational skills Doug brought this whole trip together. His ability of drawing people out into conversation and the myriad of Boy Scout games brought back the Boy Scout that many of us had forgotten - Thanks Doug - You done Good! BACK

Les

Les - Les is so mellow. No hidden agendas & is always there for anyone that needs help. Even though we had to carry Les all the way to the top (Just kidding) we could not have made it without him. Les was the glue that held us together. We we needed help he was there. Thanks for the invite Les, it was one of the most memorable hikes I have had. Hope to do a lot more with you. Oh Yeah & Don't ever lose that great SMILE. BACK

Sam

Sam - What a kick this guy is. Sam was a last minute addition to the group, but oh what would have done without him! A laugh a minute with this guy & he really made the trip fun. I especially appreciated his accumulated knowledge of really cool things to talk about. He really stimulated our conversations around the evening stop over Watch out though, because he makes an Alfredo that will give you Alfredo's revenge - 1st hand experience here, & don't stand to close in case he decides to unleash his famous excessively loud yelling voice. Oh yeah. I think sam caught the most & the largest fish.BACK

Brad - is the quiet one and the best looking one of the ascent team. Loves the outdoor and could be out there every week if the ground wasn't so hard. The first step onto the trail brings a smile to his face that doesn't leave until he has to go back to civilization. Steady and true not much seems to bother him once he is in the wilderness. BACK

Steve

Steve - I hope Steve doesn't mind me calling him my friend & brother. This guy is amazing. The adversities he has had in life & yet he still has the most wonderful laugh - really contagious! You can see he really has a love for life. Between the nose bleeds and the blisters this guy never complained once. It was a real pleasure to be on this hike with Steve & it would be great to do more. p.s. I think he snores & tends to take up the whole tent so I might not want to tent with him though.BACK

Jeff

Jeff - Yeah we found this guy on the side of the trail & we thought it would be a kick to watch him for a week. Just kiddin brother! What a wildman he is, so strong, young and full of energy yet always willing to bring up the rear of the train and be the sweeper. And you should see the ability he has to woo a ranger with M&M's. Jeff never ceased to amaze us with the things he would come up with.... we'd just shake our heads (while we were laughing on the inside). Steve and Jeff are best of friends (never tell by listening to the arguments) so the two of them made great tent mates. Steve would stretch out & take up the tent and Jeff would haul off & let him have it (never really substantiated but the bruises and broken bones were tell tale).BACK
